We loved Valentine’s week in our class! This week we celebrated how much God loves us and how we can love each other. We hope that this is what these sweet friends remember from this week. We learned a great new song about the love of Jesus called "I've Got a Friend" if you want to practice it this week at home!
We also had tons of fun celebrating Valentine’s Day with our friends! We enjoyed working on our color words with candy heart graphing, writing letters on Valentine cards, matching uppercase and lowercase letters with "broken hearts", lacing hearts, tracing hearts, counting with candy hearts, and stringing heart noodles. We even did our first true addition activity by adding hearts!
We worked a lot on color words and rhyming this week with our fun "Mailman" poem. We also enjoyed reading the books Love, Ruby Valentine, A Valentine for God, and The Day It Rained Hearts.
We were very excited to have some special community helper visitors still come in Friday (due to last Friday's snow day). Hadley's mom (a flight nurse) and dad (a firefighter) came to tell us about their jobs! We are so appreciative of them taking the time to come, as we were of all our visitors last week!
Because we missed last Friday, we did finish our community helper activities on Wednesday, reading about police officers and firefighters as well as making pretend stethoscopes to take home!
