Halloween Fun!

What an exciting week we had in our class! From trick-or-treating to celebrating Halloween with a fun party to learning more about our bodies, we truly enjoyed all of our time together! The smiles this week brought joy to our hearts!

While focusing on our letter of the week (L), number of the week (8), and first sight word (I), we also continued to have fun with pumpkins and other Halloween activities. While reviewing the stories of Gideon and Daniel, we also talked about what the colors of the candy corn can remind us of (WHITE for how Jesus washes us clean and ORANGE and YELLOW for how Jesus puts joy in our hearts to make us a light for others). We will be moving on to November's Bible verse this coming week, but you might want to continue to practice Deuteronomy 31:6 with your child at home.

A HUGE thank you to EVERYONE who came to help with the party or sent in awesome treats! We are so blessed by each of you. Our party was so much fun, and we hope everyone enjoyed it. We got to eat such yummy snacks, play Halloween bingo, make a spooky glowing ghost craft, make Oreo spiders, and play two fun games. Before the party, we even got to go trick-or-treating for a few minutes to the businesses next to us. The costumes were all adorable!

Friday was also a fun-filled day! My sister (who is almost finished with her graduate program to become a Physician's Assistant) came to teach us about our bodies! She read the book Inside Your Outside by Dr. Seuss and led the kiddos through some of the functions of our major organs. They were fascinated by some of the new info they learned! She always helped them all glue on some of these organs to their body outline. Hopefully you all got to see your child's! In addition, everyone got to hear their own heartbeat with her stethoscope and worked on "suturing" a cut (with yarn and paper of course). We appreciate her coming in!

As a side note, you may have noticed the Scholastic book order in your child's folder! If you are interested in ordering a book for your child, you can do so online or by simply bringing the form back to me by November 15! These can even be fun Christmas items! If you bring the form back in, checks can be made to Scholastic. Our class code is PMFTD

We can't wait to see everyone this coming week!

This week, see if your child can...
1. Tell you the three colors on a candy corn and what shape a candy corn is.
2. Use sticks from your yard to form the letter L, F, T, and M!
3. Talk with you about the function of their lungs and heart.
4. Reread the story of Gideon with you!
5. Go on a leaf hunt to fill their bag of leaves for Thursday!

L is for letters!

Look at these cute costumes!

So much fun trick-or-treating!!

Party fun!! Thank you again for ALL the help!
